What Christian Counseling Looks Like with Me

Christian counseling doesn’t mean you have to leave your faith at the door — it means you’re invited to bring it into the room.

In our sessions, we may:

  • Explore how your faith shapes your identity and relationships
  • Work through struggles with forgiveness, grace, and emotional healing
  • Strengthen your marriage or family with biblical principles of love and communication
  • Process spiritual doubts or faith transitions in a safe, compassionate space

My approach combines faith-based wisdom with clinical expertise, so you receive guidance that honors both your spiritual beliefs and your emotional well-being.

The Emotionally Focused Therapeutic Approach

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is the therapeutic approach I use for Christian Counseling. EFT is research-driven and has a strong foundation in attachment science. It emphasizes the importance of secure emotional connnections which aligns with God’s design for marriages.

Through EFT, I help couples tackle the emotional core of their conflicts. Together, couples can build a foundation of trust, empathy, and mutual support. From this foundation, EFT strengthens relationships and spiritual connection between partners—mirroring the love and commitment vital to a Christian marriage.

Why Book Your Christian Counseling with Dr. Belle

When it comes to healing your relationship and improving your mental health, choosing the right counselor is crucial. Couples often reach out for help during some of the most vulnerable and painful seasons of their lives. The quality of care they receive can make a profound difference in the outcome.

Many Christian couples begin their journey by seeking counseling through their church. While pastors and church leaders are often deeply compassionate and spiritually wise, they are not always professionally trained therapists, nor have they necessarily earned advanced degrees in counseling, psychology, or mental health. Relationship distress—especially when it involves trauma, betrayal, long-standing conflict, or emotional disconnection—requires specialized clinical training, not just good intentions.

That’s why it’s so important to work with someone who is highly trained and among the best in their field when it comes to relationships and couples counseling. Your marriage deserves expert care that integrates both clinical excellence and Christian faith.

As your counselor, I bring an unmatched level of training, experience, and leadership to my work with Christian couples:

This represents the highest level of certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the gold-standard, evidence-based approach for couples counseling.

Dr. Belle helps train and mentor other therapists in the region to become effective, ethical, and skilled EFT couples counselors.

This depth of experience means your relationship is guided by someone who understands not only theory, but how real change happens in real marriages.

With this extensive training, you receive the best care available and the most effective, research-backed strategies for healing and strengthening your relationship with Christ at the center of your healing.

My Love Story with Marriage and Spirituality

Many couples come to me after working with other therapists, where they felt judged, misunderstood, or even encouraged toward divorce in ways that conflicted with their values.

My approach is different. I practice the gold standard in couples counseling: EFT. It beautifully aligns with what Scripture reveals about God’s design for love, connection, and covenant. I offer a compassionate, faith-informed space where we focus on strengthening your bond, addressing deep challenges, and creating real, lasting change through skilled, professional care.

I was raised in the church with a strong, active faith in God. I believed deeply in unconditional love and never imagined I would personally experience the pain of divorce. Yet I did. With it came profound heartbreak and a painful conflict between my lived experience and my spiritual upbringing. One of the hardest parts was confronting the shame and self-judgment I carried.

Through healing, prayer, and intentional work, I came to understand that I was not condemned, broken beyond repair, or defined by failure. I learned that my story was not over.

Through my own therapeutic journey and my training to become a Certified EFT Supervisor and Therapist, I began to understand what was truly driving the negative patterns in my relationships and life choices.

For the first time, I was able to interrupt those cycles effectively, heal deeply, and find redemption in my own love story.

I thank God daily for leading me to Emotionally Focused Therapy. EFT transformed me—not only as a clinician, but as a person. It helped me experience and understand the kind of secure, loving connection God intended for marriage. Most importantly, it helped me become a healthier, more grounded version of myself and learn to choose and nurture a healthy romantic partnership.

God has restored my love life, and today I am joyfully remarried in a Christ-centered marriage with an incredible husband. Healing and restoration are possible. Redemption is real. It’s is never too late.

You may be wondering if it’s too late for your marriage or your love story. You may feel, as I once did, that the church you grew up in didn’t fully prepare you for the realities of marriage in today’s world. You might believe your relationship is beyond hope or change.

I want you to know there is hope. EFT is a powerful, transformative approach, and I would love to show you how and why it works. Whether your relationship feels on the brink, you’re seeking healing after separation or divorce, or you simply want to move forward with dignity and less emotional baggage, there is a place for you here. Your story is not finished.

When Faith and Life Collide

Even the strongest believers can face anxiety, doubt, or despair.

Christian counseling offers a space to wrestle with those questions openly — not in judgment, but in love.

If you’re feeling distant from God, struggling to forgive, or questioning your direction, I’ll walk with you through it. Healing isn’t about pretending everything’s fine — it’s about inviting God into the process of making it whole again.
